Interview for the Discovery Girls magazine

Tell us about The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
Dylan: The show is about two kids and their single mom who live at a hotel and cause a lot of trouble...not bad things, just fun stuff.

Does the stuff you do in the show relate to your real life as brothers?
Dylan: So much! It's just like at home! Basically the characters on the show are pretty much just like us.

What's the set like when the cameras aren't rolling?
Dylan: It's awesome! we get to hang out with all of our friends here. Basically the cast is a big family. One time I hooked up with the prop guy and we were planning a prank on Cole. It never happened, but we're still planning it.

Are you worried about what's in store, Cole?
Cole: No! I'll get him back if he tries anything!

What would your fans be surprised to find out about each of you?
Cole: We're small. We wear bikinis on weekends. [They laugh. Clearly they're joking!]

What are the best things about being an identical twin?
Cole: If Dylan and I want to talk about something private, we don't need to use words, really. We can just look at each other and almost read what the other one is thinking.
Dylan: I feel that way, too. I think the best part about having a twin is that there's always someone to annoy you or maybe that's a challenging thing about it!

Are you ever jealous of each other?
Cole: Not really. We get along really well...
Dylan: Yeah, right!
Cole: OK, sometimes we fight, but we never get jealous of each other because we know it's just little things we fight over.

Have you ever competed for a role?
Cole: Not really. If one of us gets a role, the other one will usually be incorporated into the part sooner or later, or we'll switch off. One of us might get a little tired or one of us might need to go to school so the other takes over.
Dylan: Cole and I actually fight about scenes we've been in. If we're watching the movie Big Daddy, Cole will say, "That's me in that scene!" and I'll say, "No that's me!" We were really young when the movie was made and we don't remember actually filming the scenes!

What advice do you have for siblings who have trouble getting along?
Cole: Usually if Dylan and I are fighting over something stupid like a video game, say one of us won't share and the other throws a fit, we'll usually stop being mad at each other by bringing up a different subject.
Dylan: Or sometimes the older sibling should take control of the situation.
Cole: Like cry?!
Dylan: No, not like that, Cole! Not like what you do!
Cole: Me? I'm not the one who did that the other day!
Dylan: I'm talking now! I'm talking! [They laugh.] Anyway, if we're mad at each other, we'll usually bring something else up, like, "Hey, do you want to go play a little game of football?" just to take our minds off it.

If you could be any animal for a day, which would you be?
Cole: I'd be a mole because they have really sharp claws and dig underground. I'd probably use my razor-sharp claws to attack some enemies.

Does Cole's choice surprise you, Dylan?
Dylan: No! Cole's pretty morbid. I believe it. I'd probably be a jellyfish.
Cole: What?!
Dylan: Yeah, because who the heck would attack a jellyfish? I'd be in the ocean zapping people with my electricity. I'd be like, Zap! Zap!

Do you think its tough for guys and girls to be good friends at this age?
Cole: I think you get a different perspective from having girls as friends since they can look at a lot of stuff differently. Being friends with girls helps you see things in "girl vision."
Dylan: It's not like they're from Venus! Wait....
uh...yeah they are! [They laugh.]

Have you had any run-ins with fans yet?
Dylan: Not yet, but we're expecting to.

Do you have any plans for when you do?
Cole: Um...I haven't really thought about that yet, but I bet I should!
